Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – On Monday, January 12, 2026, residents in numerous villages around the island witnessed the collaboration between departments in the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Energy and Utilities when the asphalt crew of the Roads and Drains Division of the Public Works Department were deployed to Middle Island, Half Way Tree, and Dieppe Bay.
According to Roads Supervisor Raimon Browne, the crew applied road base to select areas following road cutting exercises that the St. Kitts Water Services Department (WSD) undertook to access subterranean pipes as part of its ongoing maintenance of the island’s water distribution network.
Browne also informed that the concrete crew was deployed to Needsmust to pave the entrance of the Ministry of Education’s School Meals Facility, demonstrating the Department’s commitment to meaningful collaboration even beyond its parent ministry.

As the PWD continues to maintain and improve the island’s infrastructure, it invites the general public to follow its progress at mopieudt.gov.kn, the Public Works Department’s Facebook page, and the Ministry’s Social Media pages.
