Energy Unit Personnel Attend Course on Energy Efficiency and Electric Vehicles in Taiwan

Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) — As the government strategically advances its sustainable island state agenda, Energy Officer Denasio Frank and Administrative Assistant Andrezj Warner are in Taiwan, participating in a pivotal ‘Workshop on Energy Efficiency in the Transportation Sector.’  

Their presence at this workshop is a significant step towards the Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Energy, Utilities, and Domestic Transport’s commitment to energy efficiency. 

Addressing the impact of the duo’s training session on the work of the Energy Unit, the Director of the Energy Unit, Dr. Bertill Browne, said:

“Energy efficiency is very important for us. We are looking for ways of reducing our energy consumption by using more efficient equipment.”

Director Browne further emphasized that the training session would play a crucial role in the Energy Unit’s ongoing efforts to finalize the Electric Vehicle Policy, which aims to expedite the adoption of electric vehicles in St. Kitts and Nevis.

The Republic of China on Taiwan, recognizing the importance of energy efficiency, sponsored the officers’ attendance through the Taiwan ICDF and the Taiwanese Embassy in a show of international cooperation, further strengthening the ties between our nations.
