Basseterre, Saint Kitts (Public Infrastructure News) – The St. Kitts Water Services Department (WSD) wishes to inform the general public that a major punch list item, the Bulkhead Re-Installation, identified during the commissioning phase of the Basseterre Desalination Plant, is scheduled for implementation from April 16, 2026, as part of the ongoing efforts to close out all outstanding punch list items by the contractual close out date of May 25, 2026.
This work will require a temporary pause in water production at the plant while the installation is carried out. Consequently, residents in East Basseterre, Bird Rock and its environs, Frigate Bay and its environs, the Southeast Peninsula, and Conaree Gardens will experience intermittent water service interruptions, primarily during the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The installation is expected to take approximately 9 to 14 days.
Consumers are kindly asked to exercise water conservation measures as much as possible during this period.
The Water Services Department apologizes in advance for any inconvenience that may be caused and sincerely thanks the public for their patience and understanding as we complete this important step toward improving the reliability and capacity of the national water supply.
